Windows have additional child-friendly safety locks (key operated). However, the downstairs floors are stone throughout and there are several ‘no-go’ areas on the property (e.g. a remote-control operated garage with machinery and tools, which we keep closed at all times when guests are on-site). In the unlikely event that heating is required, this is via a large wood burner downstairs and electric radiators upstairs. Therefore it is advisable to keep the doors locked when inside, as it’s not always possible to have your children in sight at all times. Your gîte has three separate doors for private access and also a low window from the bathroom on to the garden (lockable).
